FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a 1982 American coming-of-age comedy film directed by Amy Heckerling in her feature directorial debut. Its screenplay was written by Cameron Crowe, based on his 1981 book Fast Times at Ridgemont High: A True Story, and it starred Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Judge Reinhold, Phoebe Cates, Brian Backer, Robert Romanus, and Ray Walston. Crowe went undercover as a student at Clairemont High School in San Diego and wrote about his experiences.[3]
The film chronicles a school year in the lives of underclassmen Stacy Hamilton and Mark Ratner, and their older friends Linda Barrett and Mike Damone, both of whom believe themselves wiser in the ways of romance than their younger counterparts. The ensemble cast of characters form two subplots with Jeff Spicoli, a perpetually stoned surfer facing off against history teacher Mr. Hand; and Stacy’s older brother Brad, a popular senior who works in entry-level jobs to pay for his car and ponders ending his two-year relationship with his girlfriend Lisa.
In addition to Penn, Reinhold, Cates, and Leigh, the film marks early appearances by several actors who later became stars, including Nicolas Cage, Eric Stoltz, Forest Whitaker, and Anthony Edwards (the first two in their feature-film debuts).
In 2005, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.[4][5]

Meatballs is a 1979 Canadian comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman. It is noted for Bill Murray‘s first film appearance in a starring role and for launching the directing career of Reitman, whose later comedies include Stripes (1981) and Ghostbusters (1984), both starring Murray.
It is the first of six film collaborations between Murray and Harold Ramis. It spawned three sequels, of which only Meatballs III: Summer Job (1986) had any connection to the original.

Weird Science is a 1985 American teen science fantasy comedy film written and directed by John Hughes and starring Anthony Michael Hall, Ilan Mitchell-Smith and Kelly LeBrock. It is based on the 1951 pre-Comics Code comic “Made of the Future” by Al Feldstein, which appeared in the magazine of the same name. The title song was written and performed by American new wave band Oingo Boingo. The film was released by Universal Pictures on August 2, 1985 and grossed $38.9 million against a $7.5 million budget while receiving positive reviews. The film is regarded as a cult classic.[1][2]

TEENAGE HITCHHIKERS
Teenage Hitchhikers is a 1975 American sex comedy written, directed, and produced by Jerome S. Kaufmann. Kathie Christopher and Sandra Peabody star as Mouse and Bird, two teenage girls who embark on a journey West in search of freedom, excitement, and independence.
Cinematographer Bill Lamond signed on to the project after being approached by Kaufmann to work on the film. Kaufmann and Lamond worked at the same television advertisement company. Production began in September 1973 for a week on a low budget of $15k. It was released into drive-in theaters in 1974 to generally favorable reviews that highlight the comedic timing of Christopher and Peabody and the film’s social commentary.
The film is one of filmmaker Quentin Tarantino‘s favorite films and got included in the sixth semi-annual lineup of his Quentin Tarantino Film Festival in 2005 in Austin, Texas

HEATHERS
Heathers is a 1988 American satirical teen film written by Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann, in both of their respective film debuts.[7][8] The film stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty, Lisanne Falk, Kim Walker and Penelope Milford. It follows downtrodden high school student Veronica Sawyer—the only girl of her school clique not to be named Heather—who falls in love with Jason “J.D.” Dean, a misanthropic newcomer intent on murdering the popular students and staging their deaths as suicides.[3]
Waters wrote Heathers as a spec script and originally wanted Stanley Kubrick to direct the film, out of admiration for Kubrick’s own black comedy film Dr. Strangelove. Waters intended the film to contrast the optimistic teen movies of the era, particularly those written by John Hughes, by presenting a cynical depiction of high school imbued with dark satire.[9]
Filmed in Los Angeles in July of 1988, Heathers premiered in Milan, Italy in the fall of 1988[10] before making its way to the Sundance Film Festival on January 21, 1989, then New World Pictures theatrically released the film in the United States on March 31, 1989. It went on to win the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature, and for his screenplay, Waters received the Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Motion Picture Screenplay.[11] It has since become popular and is regarded in polls as one of the greatest coming-of-age films of all time.[12][13][14] Heathers has since been adapted into a musical and a television reboot.

The Pom Pom Girls (also known as Palisades High) is a 1976 American film directed by Joseph Ruben. The screenplay was written by Ruben and based on a story by him and Robert J. Rosenthal. The movie was shot on location at Chaminade High School in Los Angeles.[3] The Pom Pom Girls is a low budget sex comedy, which was often popular at drive-in theaters during the 1970s. The film features an early performance by Robert Carradine, who would go onto playing Lewis Skolnik in the 1984 hit movie, Revenge of the Nerds. The film also features Susan Player Jarreau (as the car hop waitress), wife of Grammy-winning singer Al Jarreau.[4]
